Working with HBG (BAM Construction) we were appointed to carry out the complete Mechanical and Electrical installation on the University of Liverpool Engineering re-structuring programme. This involved the complete refurbishment of three existing buildings – Civil Engineering, Harrison Hughes and Mechanical Engineering. The department was enthusiastic about the idea of illuminating the facade of their Active Learning Laboratory and as such the final design which was designed by Arup Lighting and Sheppard Robson Architects can be programmed to display numbers letters as well as infinite array of lights and colour.

Heating Services, Ventilation, Hot and Cold Water, Compressed Air, Process Water, Public Health, Sanitary Fittings, Rainwater, Building Management and Controls, Dry Risers, Supply Ventilation, Toilet Extract Systems, General and Emergency Lighting, Fire Alarm, Door Access, Power Wiring, DATA Wiring, CCTV and Facade Lighting and Controls, Thermal Insulation, Client Demonstrations and Soft Landings.

This was our first project that we worked with BAM Construction and we have since gone on to work on may fantastic schemes including Liverpool Community College, UTC @ Media City, five refurbishment projects for Liverpool Community College and the £ 8 Million new Accident and Emergency project at Aintree Hospital. It is testiment to that relationship we have developed together that we were awarded Regional Sub Contractor 2012 which is an award we are all very proud of.

This was a difficult project with many challenges and having to maintain, divert and extend complex services within a fully occupied facility was testament to the expertise our engineers brought to the team as a whole.
