A Look Back at the North West Regional Construction Awards

Working alongside GRAHAM and the wider project team, A&B Engineering is delivering the mechanical and electrical services across this landmark 505-home development. The scheme continues to progress well, with significant advances being made across the structural frame, façade works and internal fit-out. It is fantastic to see the development taking shape and moving successfully through its next stages. We would like to thank Chris Bennett for sharing the latest project update, as well as GRAHAM, the subcontractors, consultants and entire site team for their continued collaboration, expertise and commitment. A&B Engineering is delighted to have been appointed by Galliford Try to deliver the mechanical and electrical services for the City Place development in Chester. The landmark scheme will provide 126 high-quality, energy-efficient homes for social rent as part of the wider regeneration of the City Place masterplan. Designed to create sustainable and modern homes for the local community, the development represents an important investment in Chester’s future and will help meet the growing demand for affordable housing. We are particularly pleased to be working alongside Galliford Try once again. Building trusted and long-lasting relationships with leading contractors is extremely important to A&B Engineering, and we are proud to continue supporting projects that deliver a meaningful and lasting benefit to local communities. As our business continues to grow, we remain grateful for the trust and confidence placed in us by our clients and partners. We are looking back at a fantastic afternoon at the Place North West Property Lunch in Manchester, which A&B Engineering was proud to sponsor alongside Lexington and Trowers & Hamlins. The event brought together professionals from across the North West property sector for insightful discussions, valuable networking and a shared focus on the future of the region. Julia Hatmaker expertly hosted the panel discussion, with Tom Stannard, Hugh Frost and Katie Saunders sharing their perspectives on the opportunities, challenges and future outlook for the North West property market. At A&B Engineering, we believe mechanical and electrical services are the heartbeat and lungs of every successful building. Behind every great development is an M&E infrastructure that allows it to operate efficiently, sustainably and safely. Being involved in major schemes across the Northwest, and engaging with industry leaders through organisations such as Place North, is therefore extremely important to us. The event also provided an opportunity to celebrate the renewal of our Partner Pro partnership with Place North for another year. Through this partnership, we continue to support industry events, build new relationships, share knowledge and contribute to the growth of the North West property community. We were delighted to welcome guests from Krol Corlett Group, McLaren Construction Group and Willmott Dixon. It was a pleasure to share the afternoon with them, and we greatly value their continued support and partnership. A&B Engineering is proud to announce the successful completion of the Evo Dental Lab project, delivered in collaboration with The Consortia Group. The specialist nature of the facility made this an exciting project for our team and another excellent example of the diverse environments in which we work. Whether we are supporting the delivery of a specialist dental laboratory, a commercial fit-out or a large-scale industrial facility, we approach every project with the same commitment to quality, precision and partnership. No two projects at A&B Engineering are ever the same. This variety allows our teams to apply their expertise across numerous sectors while helping clients transform their ideas into high-quality completed spaces. Most importantly, we value the relationships built throughout every project. The trust placed in us by our clients and delivery partners is something we never take for granted. We would like to thank Stephanie Whittick and the entire team at The Consortia Group for their excellent collaboration. A&B Engineering Completes The Mere A&B Engineering is incredibly proud to celebrate the completion of The Mere, a fantastic development delivered in partnership with Russell WBHO. Our team was responsible for delivering the full mechanical and electrical services for the project. Seeing the completed development is an extremely rewarding moment and reflects the hard work, expertise and dedication demonstrated throughout every stage of delivery. From the initial planning stages through to final completion, The Mere showcased the value of strong collaboration, clear communication and a shared commitment to achieving the highest standards. Projects of this scale and quality are only possible through the efforts of a committed and professional team. We would therefore like to thank everyone who contributed to the successful delivery of the development. A special thank you goes to Paul Pemberton, Building Services Manager, Richard Sumner and the entire Russell WBHO team for the opportunity to work alongside them. We greatly appreciate their continued support and collaboration throughout the project. Congratulations to everyone involved. We are proud to have played our part in bringing The Mere to life and look forward to working with Russell WBHO again in the future.

The A&B Engineering team recently attended the Inspiring Women in Construction Awards in London for a fantastic evening celebrating the achievements of women and businesses from across the industry.  We were incredibly proud to be shortlisted for the Next Generation Award. Being recognised alongside so many inspiring individuals and organisations is a significant achievement and a wonderful reflection of the work taking place across A&B Engineering. We are fortunate to have a brilliant group of women within our business who support, encourage and celebrate one another. Together, we are passionate about creating opportunities and helping the next generation of women develop successful careers within construction and engineering. Being shortlisted has made us even more determined. We will continue learning, growing and creating meaningful opportunities across our business—and we hope to return even stronger next time. It was a wonderful evening spent with a fantastic team. We are proud of how far we have come and even more excited about what lies ahead.

A&B Engineering is proud to be sponsoring the Leeds Fit Out Charity Music Night 2026, organised by Overbury. Taking place at Aspire Leeds on 8 October, the event will bring together professionals from across the fit out and construction community for an evening of live music, networking and fundraising. All funds raised during the event will support St Gemma’s Hospice and the essential care it provides to patients and families across the local community. As A&B Engineering continues to grow its presence throughout Leeds and Yorkshire, we are delighted to support an event that unites our industry while making a positive contribution to such an important local cause. We look forward to joining our industry colleagues in Leeds for what promises to be a fantastic and meaningful evening.

A&B Engineering is incredibly proud of, Sarra Boumellil, who successfully climbed Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) while representing the company and raising funds for Little Lights Liverpool. The challenge began at 3:00am, with the group climbing through the darkness using head torches before reaching the summit at approximately 6:30am. The climb was both physically and mentally demanding, particularly as it was Sarra’s first mountain challenge, but she showed incredible determination and successfully made it to the summit. Sarra received fantastic encouragement from the entire group throughout the climb. A special thank you also goes to mountain guide Craig Birch, whose patience and support ensured that nobody was left behind. Every step was taken in support of Little Lights and its important work helping children and families when they need it most. We would like to thank the Little Lights team, Sky Blue Adventures, everyone at A&B Engineering and every person who donated, shared or supported the fundraising. Congratulations, Sarra, an incredible achievement for a truly meaningful cause!

The A&B Engineering team recently attended the CN Specialists Awards in London, joining leading businesses and professionals from across the UK construction industry for a fantastic evening of celebration. We were incredibly proud to be named national finalists in two categories: Social Value and Health & Safety. Being shortlisted at a national level is a significant achievement and reflects the continued hard work, dedication and commitment demonstrated by our teams across the business. The event provided a wonderful opportunity to celebrate this recognition together, connect with industry colleagues and recognise the outstanding achievements of specialist contractors from across the country. Although we did not bring an award home on this occasion, being selected as finalists was a proud moment for everyone at A&B Engineering and has encouraged us to continue developing, improving and aiming even higher. We would like to thank our entire team for their continued commitment and congratulate all the finalists and winners recognised during the evening.
