Our Story
A&B Engineering is a privately-owned company based in
Liverpool, specialising in the design and installation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) services throughout the Northwest. Established in
the 1950s, the company has grown significantly over the years, becoming one of the largest in its sector. This year, our turnover has reached
circa £60 million.
Our headquarters are located on Derby Lane, Old Swan, Liverpool, in premises that we own. We have been based here for nearly 50 years, expanding by acquiring adjacent properties as the business has continued to grow from strength to strength. A&B Engineering is owned by shareholders who are actively involved in the business and have been long-standing employees, ensuring continuity as Directors retire and new talent emerges. Today, our team has grown to include more than 270 full-time staff, with all Plumbers, Fitters, and Electricians directly employed. Many of our employees have been with us for numerous years, reflecting our commitment to fostering loyalty and professional growth.
We take great pride in our apprenticeship programme, consistently recruiting and training apprentices across all disciplines at both craft and technical levels. Many of our current Directors and senior management, both on-site and office-based, began their careers as A&B Apprentices. This commitment to nurturing talent has been a core value for decades, and we continue to invest in our people to maintain our strong industry reputation.

As a registered Low Carbon Consultant, we are proud to be at the forefront of sustainable engineering.
We also pride ourselves on being innovators, with significant experience in 3D Modelling and Building Information Modelling (BIM), utilising the Autodesk Revit platform across many of our projects.
