H&S Leadership & Experience.
Our dedicated SH&E Manager, Les Malcolm has been with A&B Engineering for over 15 years , Les holds NEBOSH construction & CITB certification, supported by over 50 years of Trade background and Health & Safety construction industry experience, this valuable experience has assisted in leading to his current competency status with the Association of Project Safety NOS (National Occupational Standard) this being assessed as proficient and competent in coordination of CDM 2015, HASWA and provision of regulated construction related safety management systems, procedures and policies and all requirements relating to his position at A&B Engineering Ltd as our professional H&S practitioner, this competence position is further supported by Les being a registered Member of the Institute of International institute of risk & safety management (MIIRSM).
All our Contracts Managers, Senior Site Managers, and Supervisors are CITB SMSTS/SSSTS or IOSH qualified, taking full responsibility for project health and safety.
Skilled and Trained Workforce
A&B Engineering Ltd undertake recorded TNA reviews to ensure that our workforce is well-trained to maintain a safe working environment. Key certifications and training include:
- Mandatory manual handling (TILE) & working at height training (24-month refresher course)
- IPAF (all classes) including PAV
- FFP3 (RPE) face fit certification
- Abrasive wheels and Fire Warden training
- First Aid (EFAW) course-Over 95% of our site personnel are trained first aiders
- IOSH for Executives (Director level)
- PASMA (all classes)
- Confined spaces (Medium risk)
- Annually refreshed asbestos awareness
- Fire Warden (Hot Works)
- Harness management & use
- Face Fit RPE testing for 100% of our workforce
- Design risk management CDM 2015 (Design Dept)
Robust Safety Systems
We have developed comprehensive Health and Safety Policies and Safety Management Systems, fully aligned with ISO 45001 standards and compliant with regulated HSE HSG65 guidelines. Additionally, our Quality Management System ISO 9001:2015 certified, our QS procedures and systems bolster and ensure consistent quality in safety management from commencement through to project delivery. We undertake CDM 2015 compliant supply chain prequalification procedures and subsequent supply chain KPIs.
Supply Chain Minimum Standards
Our H&S manager conducts monthly recorded and auditable site inspections, these audits are in addition supported by our appointed supply chain partners H&S advisors/managers to assist in ensuring our workforce and their procedures are being constantly reviewed and assessed to always provide safe working environments for our workforce.
A&B Engineering Ltd pride ourselves on our H&S standards and through our projects being vastly connected to a core of UK Tier 1 Principal contractors and clients we have been able to develop robust ‘H&S Minimum standards’ documentation which we ensure we filter through our own workforce and the members of our supply chain.
