Manchester Airport & Control Tower

Client:  Morgan Sindall

Industry:  Airports

Value: £2.5 Million Mechanical and Electrical

A&B Engineering have carried out numerous service installations at Manchester Airport . We were appointed to design and install the mechanical and electrical services for the relocation of the outward bound control area. The enabling works included the diversion of all the M& E services around the lift and escalator areas. Working within a busy operating Airport had its challenges no least having to interface with existing services some being air side of the facility. We supplied and installed the following :

Services Provided:

Upgrading of Ventilation system, Constant Volume Boxes, Reheat Batteries, Grilles and Diffusers, LPHW System, Domestic Water System, Air Conditioning,Fire fighting Installation,Public Health, Drainage. Upgrading and Diverting Electrical Systems to allow Installation of new Llifts, Full Electrical System, New Mains Installation, Sub Mains Fire Alarm Installation, Security, PVA, Data and Access Equipment, Thermal Insulation and Full Commissioning and Hand Over.

In 2013 we were appointed by Morgan Sindall to complete (we didn’t start this project) and commission the services to this brand new state of the art Control Tower and again it had its challenges with working within restricted areas of a very busy International Airport.

We have also carried out works in other Airports including Liverpool, Gatwick, Birmingham and Doncaster. This scheme has been fully complete and commissioned and adds to our impressive portfolio of Airport works.
