Measuring Our Social Value Impact

At A&B Engineering, we are committed to creating positive social value through the opportunities we provide, the communities we support, and the people we invest in.

To help us better understand and measure this impact, we work with SocialScore, a social value measurement tool developed by The Women’s Organisation. Built on over 30 years of social value expertise, SocialScore enables organisations to track, evidence, and report on the difference they make across community engagement, employment, skills development, and wellbeing.

Through SocialScore, we are able to capture meaningful data that reflects our contribution to society — from apprenticeship and work experience opportunities to community initiatives and workforce development. This approach ensures transparency in our reporting while helping us identify new ways to strengthen our social impact.

Our partnership with SocialScore supports our ongoing commitment to responsible business practices, allowing us to measure what matters and continuously improve the value we create for our communities and stakeholders.

Celebrating Apprenticeship Week at A&B Engineering

At A&B Engineering, Apprenticeship Week provides an opportunity to recognise the important role apprentices play within our business and the wider engineering industry. We are proud to support apprenticeships as a key pathway into engineering, helping individuals develop practical skills, gain industry experience, and build long-term careers. Our apprentices are an integral part of our team, contributing to projects while learning from experienced engineers and developing the technical and professional skills needed for the future. Through structured training, mentorship, and hands-on experience, we aim to create an environment where apprentices can grow with confidence and achieve their potential. Investing in apprenticeships is part of our wider commitment to social value. By providing opportunities for young people and those looking to retrain, we help strengthen local skills, support employment, and contribute positively to our communities. Project Announcement – Millwood SEND School

A&B Engineering is pleased to announce one of our latest project wins at Millwood SEND School in Radcliffe, Greater Manchester. The development will support the school’s expansion, providing modern, high-quality facilities designed to enhance the learning environment for pupils with special educational needs. With works scheduled to commence in March 2026, the expansion will play an important role in meeting the growing demand for specialist education provision within the local community. The project will help create a purpose-built environment that supports both academic development and student wellbeing. A&B Engineering will be responsible for delivering the mechanical and electrical services for the scheme. We are proud to be working once again alongside Kier Group, continuing a strong and successful partnership in delivering high-quality education facilities. This project represents another SEN school added to A&B Engineering’s growing portfolio, reinforcing our ongoing commitment to supporting the education sector through the delivery of efficient, reliable, and high-performing building services solutions.
