Verdin House, a Grade II–listed building dating back to the 1880s, required full modernisation to meet contemporary healthcare standards. The challenge was to install advanced mechanical and electrical systems while preserving the building’s historic fabric and architectural integrity.

A&B Engineering delivered a complete mechanical and electrical services package, including operating theatres, recovery areas, and clinical spaces. Sustainable air source heat pumps, compliant medical gas systems, theatre-grade lighting, and discreet service installations were carefully integrated using existing voids and reversible methods.

The historic Verdin House was successfully transformed into a modern surgical and cataract centre, combining clinical efficiency with heritage preservation. The facility now supports safe, efficient patient flow, meets current healthcare regulations, and retains its original character for long-term use.
